what? miley cyrus a gay man?

i joke of course, but miley cyrus tells parade magazine that she doesn’t watch much on tv these days but she never misses rupaul’s drag race.

“there is one show i’m addicted to: rupaul’s drag race,” miley says. “i love me some rupaul. i love rupaul’s motto. it goes something like, ‘a real lady is never bitchy, a real lady is sassy.’”

she also talkedabout her godmother dolly parton and her love for lady gaga, saying of the latter, “she’s really smart. i caught her on oprah and she was really chill. i used to be like, yeah, i guess she’s talented but how much is she really singing. but i’ve become a convert.”

credit where credit’s due

i have much love for florence and the machine, amazing performer, singer and album getting many awards. but it seems “rabbit heart (raise it up)” infringes on “house jam” a song by gang gang dance (a group i know nothing about, but are sure to get a lot of publicity from this)

listening myself i don’t hear much of a similarity, maybe a little in the lyrical melody but “rabbit heart” is far superior. but admission has been made, according to warp, gang gang dance’s publisher, “they did acknowledge the infringement and said that they were aware of it.”

florence herself says, “yeah that’s true, it’s no secret. i’ve spoken about it in interviews before. i’m a massive fan of gang gang dance and it was in homage to them.” it was an error that credit was not on the first run of albums.

whatever you think, gang gang dance will make quite a bit from royalties. i know ya didn’t mean it florence. anyway, have a listen yourselves…

so first i hear john mayer swoon (american blues musician) preferred dancing in gay bars, then he’d an intimate kiss with a guy. now it’s been revealed that mayer willfully divulged secrets about his taste in homoerotic entertainment, especially brent corrigan (model, actor and gay porn star).

brent himself has got in on it saying it’s probably just gossip but perez hilton (corrigan’s co-star in another gay sequel) insists that it is true. brent also said that when he was in high school “i had magazine cut out pictures of john mayer pasted to the back of my binder where no one could see.”

when i first heard the dancing story, i wished there was more and i got it, who know’s maybe there’s more to come.

sarah blasko

will sarah blasko (singer/songwriter) be the next best thing musically to come out of australia, i think so. she was born in sydney, her mother a nurse and father a teacher, both christian missionaries. sarah left the church in her final year of high school after she became concerned by the apocalyptic message of the end of the world.  her third solo album as day follows night (produced by peter bjorn and john) will be released here mid march. from what i’ve heard of it so far, i really like, so i’ll keep listening. she seems a little eccentric and prefers vintage and old style things, added to that her voice and sound does remind me a little of our lisa hannigan. here’s the single we won’t run that’s to be released and another from the album.

he looks strangely familiar to me… but anyway, yeah. cassidy haley is a young gay l.a. based rock-star, plays guitar and piano (ooh) his début album little boys and dinosaurs was listed as a top 10 album of the year by the houston chronicle. cassidy has another release in march and a u.s. tour in april.

so things are looking up for him since he decided to leave 8 years in fashion behind him. not that his fashion career wasn’t a success, in that time he had two labels and dressed stars like adam lambert and fergie to name a few, so maybe you’ve heard his name before.

he’d prefer his music to speak for itself but when pushed describes it as “electronic, pop, folk, goth, and glam-rock”. the new album will be more classic, glam-rock.

his mum is a lesbian and his father is gay (sperm donor he met when he was 14) he tells us “i had my issues of course, especially with alienation at school. i had no idea boys weren’t supposed to play with barbie dolls…and while the trauma of being ridiculed took a long time to work through, i feel so grateful that my mother didn’t try to make me “conform” to social expectations, even at such a young age. i now have a free, independent spirit that wouldn’t have been as easy to hold on to otherwise, and really that has more to do with my mother’s philosophy of life than her sexual orientation. but I’m grateful either way.”

with the combination of fashion and music could cassidy be the male equivalent to lady gaga?
