wish i was there
only a few hours left until the 2010 cork pride parade sets off. the theme this year, ‘we are family’. it brings back some great memories. i was at it last year and it was so much fun, weather was amazing and the crowds were in great spirits. it’s looking like it’s going to be another beautiful day today.
we are family too
is the theme for this years dublin pride film shorts competition and it’s set to be bigger and better. now in it’s second year, the competition is part of the dublin lgbtq pride festival which runs 18th – 27th june 2010. you can watch last years entries under the theme pride and prejudice here. i was involved in one for last year and although we came third we also won the viewers choice award. for further information on the competition and to download an application form click here
so… your ipad, or mine?

there’s a dating site for nearly every taste out there so it didn’t really surprise me that there is one going to launch at the end of the month for diehard apple fans (mac not the fruit). whether cupidtino is genuine or a joke, only time will tell. check the site for info on beta testing and twitter. “cupidtino will be gay-friendly. no discrimination (except against flash and internet explorer)”.
if you show me your apps, i’ll show you mine. once you go mac, you never go back.
i’m a homosexual, get me out of here!
i was in manchester with friends at the end of january this year. on the last sunday in january i went to axm and there was a competition about to start, i’m a homosexual get me out of here. each round was done throughout the night with breaks in between. i was tipsy going in and got a bit tipsier as the night went on, so i’ve missed some bits of recording, but ya get the gist. i forget the name of the drag, but she was funny and shocking.
round 1
anyway, it starts with 6 contestants, 3 guys and 3 girls and they’ve to dance and strip to their underwear for the first round. the guy in the middle kept getting his lad out, but mostly missed that on video. a winner was picked from the guys and from the girls by cheering.
round 2
the two winners from round 1 go head to head in an insect eating competition, it’s ok, i think they were chocolate covered. 3 different insects and 3 of each.
round 3 – final
in the final, the contestant goes head to head with a member of staff, this person is chosen by text vote the week leading up to the event. now i missed the bit of making the ‘milkshakes’ on camera but i can guarantee that they were sheep’s eyes milkshakes, she even threw one out to the audience, which also reminds me that the guy in the middle in round 1 picked it up and ate it *shudder.
all in all, it was very entertaining. i don’t think i could do it myself and i don’t know if many would here, especially just for a bottle of champagne.
AMI going… i am.

tomorrow is the 16th alternative miss ireland (ami) or “gay christmas” as it’s also referred to and i can’t wait. it will only be my second time going, last year was so much fun. it’s for a great cause, raising money for irish hiv/aids organisations. what i’m looking forward to most, panti hosting and her outfits, anne doyle as one of the judges and bláthnaid mcgee. each contestant is very unique so i guess i’m looking forward to seeing them all… but go bláthnaid!
if you’ve never been, you really are missing out. happy christmas.
quickly! hold hands.
sshh! today is same sex hand holding day. it is the only acceptable day this month that two members of the same sex may hold hands. be warned there are consequences if you hold hands on a day other than today. make the best of this opportunity and start holding hands… now!
i’m jokin of course, i think it’s a good idea, i’d hold hands everyday if i could.
